The Drop №. 96 with Guest Andy Forch

VRB’s weekly list of things to read, watch, listen to, and try that have helped us live better and be better. Brought to you this week by our Guest Andy Forch.

Andy Forch is Co-Founder of Huckberry, an online one-stop-shop for men looking to upgrade their clothing and gear with quality-made, hardwearing goods since its founding in 2011. Andy is a graduate of the University of Virginia, a resident of Austin, and a hell of a guy.

Andrew Bustamente – CIA Spy

Listen to this podcast with CIA spy Andrew Bustamante. Lex Fridman goes on a deep dive of all things “spy” with this former covert operative and it’s as fascinating as it sounds. For example, when you’re creating an undercover identity you have to consider the direction people read. Speaking of spycraft – I would also shamelessly plug Huckberry’s new podcast – Traverse. Check out episode 1 with Jocko Willink here.

The Terror

Two ships go missing, people disappear, there’s cannibalism, contact with natives and a whole host of other crazy events that Hollywood has dreamed up. We’re talking fun for the whole family here. Prepare to get locked into this one.

Heat 2

Read Heat 2. Heat, my all-time favorite movie, was directed by 4-time Oscar nominated writer-director Michael Mann. He teamed up with award winning author Meg Gardiner to deliver Heat 2, Mann’s first novel. This one is a must read.

Lobster diving in the Florida Keys.

Try Lobster diving in the Florida Keys - this is one of the most fun trips I’ve done in the past several years. On the last Wednesday and Thursday of July in the Keys, recreational divers get an uninterrupted jump on the lobster before commercial fishing boats are allowed to go out. This is a golden opportunity to get out on the water with your friends and snag a few lobsters. Lobster tails – it’s what’s for dinner.
